Combining Chemotherapy with Radiation Therapy: Chemoradiation Therapy (CRT)
Chemotherapy is sometimes combined with radiation therapy to treat non–small cell lung cancer. This is called chemoradiation therapy or CRT. With CRT, chemotherapy and radiation are given on the same day or sequentially (one after the other) on different days.
You may experience radiosensitivity effects if you receive chemotherapy prior to or along with radiation therapy in addition to the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy themselves.
